NIGHTLIGHTS#1

Last week I was prepping for a nightshoot. Creating a mix of metallic, nude, and creamy hues-blending it all with statement jewelry, big belts, anything gold, some animal prints, tulle skirts and feathers. Chaotic elegant simplicity!

I came a cross this framed illustration (print) on a flea market last weekend and I love it! The shapes, the strokes and the fact that her hair is actually filled with birds, its so beautiful and weird at the same time.

I noticed this girl in this beautiful leather jacket-which is just amazing!! She seemed a bit lost, and when she passed us-I asked for a picture-because I loved her jacket-then I realize when went through my NYC pictures-that the girl is actually Susie the british fashionblogger from www.stylebubble.typepad.com. Somebody should give me a map with pictures over whos who in fashionblogging right now...I seem to not recognize anyone...even celebrties...

Susie is wearing a jacket from some up and coming designers from UK (which I so typical have forgotten) the long black skirt and her black wedges (not in the frame) is a look thats just really really works! Even being quite small-she pulled of a long skirt so easily!

We bumped into Rumi-the girl behind the blog www.fashiontoast.com during NYC fashionweek waiting in line at the Erin Wasson/Rvca show, but I have been such a lazy blogger lately that a lot of posts from NY still is on hold...This is probably not the most beautiful picture of Rumi-if possible-thats what happens when I can not work the flash to my objects benefit. I Love her fake fur coat-which her boyfriend is holding.



Here is a closeup of the beautiful fakefur coat, and without a flash which is a bit more flattering to her skintone... (Thanx Dilsa for pointing her out for me...we kept on bumping into her during our stay..and now I think I would recognize her in a crowd...)

The fashionstory "Sort Magi" is out in now in HENNE#12 ! Its shot in NYC at the Charging Bull (that brings good luck and fortune) nearby Wallstreet. It was pouring down with heavy rain all day-but the outcome hardly shows that at all.

The frame is from Ikea and the poster inside is from the Tim Walker exhibition at the Design Museum in London, where also the book Unseen Vouge is from, the vase, ball and bowls are gifts from friends, and the orchid was almost dead for a year-but started to blossom when i put it in the hallway too long on its way to the bin. The William Klein book I borrowed from a photographer friend-who never got it back...

My first Christian Louboutains from the Soho store in NYC, selection of books read and to be read, romance card from Mulberry, Wallpaper Cityguides, selection of Vogue magazines, beautiful antique chair left outside in the rain at my old place, the lantern in my bedroom window, vintage orange Charles Jourdans, favorite fashion picture, tribe head/ashtray from my grandfathers many trips to Africa when he was a sailor, and an inspiring book from a magic little shop in the West Village.

I still remember the day and the place I bought the board, and its a nice reminder of a dear friend, this is where I keep all my cute things and my passport-always ready to travel! The tray I found in my neighbours garden, and the crystal bowls are from my mother. The horse lamp I came across at a thrift shop-I repainted it and bought a new shade from now long gone and favorite shop Jane Doe, the magazines are a selection of sunday times style, Harpers, Italian, french and british Vogue, Numero, Love, Another Magazine, Dazed & Confused, ID, Nylon, Wallpaper, Elle and more...

It was all about different jacket & coats for winter-and how to dress the different looks.
