Hussein Chalayan ss2009

At my second show during fashionweek-it was inspiring to also see a more edgy and very talented designer, and to be here for real-makes this job that I love so much really worth doing!. This review was also published here quicker than on www.style.com.

Come round
Yet again Hussain Chalayan was showing a special and interesting collection. In this mad world on a big round lightbox, accompanied by someone playing on GLASS to set a slightly creepy bit still beautiful mood, the models slid down the round catwalk, in neon oversized sunglasses, and some high-cut swimsuits, and navy striped sweaters and trousers with gold details on legs and arms.

Aquarelle inspired outfits colored in blue and gray with creative headpieces-this was absolutely for the more advanced. And when you thought it couldnt get anymore wierd and fantasy world-like, the show ended with the models in short fitted dresses with multiple shark-tales standing in a circle while the whole round lightbox of a catwalk went round and round like a carousel. The music got loud and more dramatic like in a movie build up, and it sounded like wild ocean, but deep down in the dark blue sea-and the wind was blowing in the models hair-like a storm was building up.
